Apathy
Apathy
Paper crumbled in the basket
Words torn apart
Ideas unwritten
Evidence of effort veiled
Volumes fill the shelves
Knowledge nobly built from
Accident from mistake from
Failure from trying
An iron will salvaged
Disappointment into
Pages of a story forever
Told without hint of the end
So we threw effort to the ground
Preferred blank pages to red ink
Unsure we could again choose
To exonerate failure as development
To present our ambitions
In their agonized finality
To a world of viewers
Pointing to mistakes
We never even detected
Not again.
But again!
Pull the paper from the basket
Smooth out the wrinkled lines
Our effort is our roar
And in its echo we will find
Our lines
