Planes

Plane

Twinkle twinkle
There’s a star I see
That moves across the
Cold night sky

From my foggy breath
To my feet planted
Firmly on damp grass
I see

Red flashes and white
Make silent warning of
A star moving in the sea of
Still

My eyes are fixed as
I watch
Filling with sadness
I imagine the lives passing me

Grateful more for my
grass damp yet yearning
Still to go wherever
Those souls may flee

Longing I feel for
Images imagined of cozy
Cabins sleeping dreamers
Please take me not away

Here I am rooted
There I long to go
Break not my chains
Oh passing star

Take instead my dreams
That chain me to you
Passing strangers in the night
Regretful seductress of the unknown
